Install and setup LMSA

About LMSA

Use the Lenovo Moto Smart Assistant (LMSA) program on your Windows PC and the Resolve prompts... no prompt target found for: feature @name=app_name_mobile_assistant @key=app_name_mobile_assistant @package=ma @pkg-version=maMobile Assistant app on your Android device to do the following tasks:

LMSA supports most Motorola and Lenovo Android devices released since 2015, regardless of warranty or bootloader status. To confirm if LMSA supports your device, connect it with LMSA.

Install LMSA

Lenovo Moto Smart Assistant requires:

  • Windows 7 (32/64 bit) or later
  • Windows 10 recommended

To install LMSA:

  1. Download latest installer from https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds101291
  2. Double-click the installation file, then follow on-screen instructions.

Connect device with LMSA

To connect with USB cable:

  1. On device, go to Settings > System > Developer options, and turn on USB debugging.

    If the “Developer options” settings is not available, go to Settings > System > About phone. Touch the Build number 7 times to enable the Developer options setting. Developer options is added to the previous screen.

  2. Connect device to computer with USB cable.

    LMSA installs Resolve prompts... no prompt target found for: feature @name=app_name_mobile_assistant @key=app_name_mobile_assistant @package=ma @pkg-version=maMobile Assistant app on your device.

  3. On your device, in the Resolve prompts... no prompt target found for: feature @name=app_name_mobile_assistant @key=app_name_mobile_assistant @package=ma @pkg-version=maMobile Assistant app, turn on Allow modifying system settings.
  4. On your device, open the Resolve prompts... no prompt target found for: feature @name=app_name_mobile_assistant @key=app_name_mobile_assistant @package=ma @pkg-version=maMobile Assistant app, touch any feature, then allow the requested permissions.
  5. If you’re logged in to your LMSA account, click Yes to register the device with LMSA.

To connect with Wi-Fi:

  1. Connect your device and computer to the same Wi-Fi network.
  2. If the Resolve prompts... no prompt target found for: feature @name=app_name_mobile_assistant @key=app_name_mobile_assistant @package=ma @pkg-version=maMobile Assistant app is not installed on your device, connect your device to LMSA with a USB cable to install Resolve prompts... no prompt target found for: feature @name=app_name_mobile_assistant @key=app_name_mobile_assistant @package=ma @pkg-version=maMobile Assistant.
  3. On your device, in the Resolve prompts... no prompt target found for: feature @name=app_name_mobile_assistant @key=app_name_mobile_assistant @package=ma @pkg-version=maMobile Assistant app, turn on Allow modifying system settings.
  4. On your device, open the Resolve prompts... no prompt target found for: feature @name=app_name_mobile_assistant @key=app_name_mobile_assistant @package=ma @pkg-version=maMobile Assistant app, touch any feature, then allow the requested permissions.
  5. Touch Scan to connect.

    If you don’t see this option, make sure the device is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the computer.

  6. Scan the QR code shown on the Device tab in LMSA.

    When connected, the Device tab shows the name of the connected device.

  7. If you’re logged in to your LMSA account, click Yes to register the device with LMSA.

Register device with LMSA

Registering your device with your LMSA account allows LMSA to remember your device information, customize features for your device, and allows service centers to verify that the device has official Lenovo or Motorola firmware.

To register a device:

  1. Connect your device with LMSA.
  2. When LMSA detects the device, click Yes to register it with your account.

To unregister a device:

  1. In LMSA, log in your LMSA account.
  2. Click your username, then click Resolve prompts... no prompt target found for: gui-ctrl @name=device_list @key=k905 @package=lmsa @pkg-version=9.
  3. Click to unregister a device.

Update LMSA

For best performance, keep your LMSA software current with the latest updates.

LMSA checks for LMSA updates when it starts, and notifies you if one is available.

To check anytime for LMSA updates, click > Upgrade LMSA.

If the update is mandatory, click Upgrade now to install it.

Change LMSA language

  1. Click > Language.
  2. Select a language, then click Restart.

    LMSA uses the new language after restarting.
