Check if the following steps resolve your issue:

• Confirm that the charger and cable work with another device, using the same power outlet. Check that the charging port is not blocked.
• Hold the Power button down for 30 seconds to restart the device. If this doesn't work, charge your phone for at least 5 minutes. Then, while connected to the charger, restart again by holding down the Power button for 30 seconds.
• Call your phone from another phone to check if the screen could be defective.

If your device does not power on, has serious software issues, or you forgot your PIN, reinstalling the device system software (firmware) could resolve the issue and avoid having to repair or replace your device.

RSA installs the latest system software available.

To reinstall the device firmware:

1. Charge device at least 60% if possible.
2. Check that the PC has at least 5GB of free space to download device firmware.
3. If your device powers on, back it up before reinstalling the device firmware.
4. Log in to RSA.
5. Connect the device with RSA using a USB cable.
6. If USB debugging is not enabled on your device, follow the on-screen instructions to enable USB debugging.

7. On the Rescue tab, do one of the following:

   • If the device was purchased in the United States, RSA uses fastboot mode to identify your device. Follow the on-screen instructions to enable fastboot mode, then wait for RSA to find the software for your device. This option also requires the region of your PC to be the United States, and the RSA language to be English.

   • If the device was purchased outside the United States, RSA uses your IMEI number to identify your device. Enter your device's 15-digit IMEI number (click How to find IMEI for help finding IMEI), then wait for RSA to find the software for your device. This option also requires the region of your PC to not be the United States, and the RSA language to not be English.

   • If fastboot mode cannot be enabled, and the IMEI is unknown, click Manual Selection on the fastboot instructions screen, then specify the properties of your device. Be careful to select the correct properties for your device to ensure that the correct firmware is installed. If you’re not sure, check your device’s packaging, order receipt, or other information provided with your device.
8. When the software is found, click Download to download it to your download location, which may take several minutes.
9. After downloading the software, click Rescue Now to install the software. The installation takes a few minutes to complete, and may pause during the process. Keep the USB cable connected during the installation.
10. Remove downloaded software from your computer if no longer needed.

If recovering a Lenovo device, set the country code:

1. Power on the phone.
2. Enable USB debugging, and authorize PC to connect with phone.
3. On the phone, dial ####682# and then follow the onscreen instructions to set the country code.

To set or view download location:

1. Click .

2. Do either:

   • Click Change to change the default download location.
   • Click Open to open the download location in Windows Explorer.

To pause or delete downloads:

1. Click .

2. Do either:

   • Click In progress to pause or resume downloads in progress.
   • After flashing your device, click Downloads to delete unneeded downloads from your computer to free up space.

If reinstalling the device firmware does not resolve your issue, request a repair for your Motorola or Lenovo device.
