Listen to music

Stream songs or download them to your phone so you can listen when you’re on an airplane or don’t have an internet connection.

You can listen through your phone's speaker or by pairing with a Bluetooth speaker.

Get music

Your phone can play MP3, FLAC, M4A, AAC, AAC+, MIDI, and WAV files.

To get music, do any of the following:

  • Purchase it in an app, like Play Music. Then stream it or download it using that app.
  • Transfer it over USB or Bluetooth from your computer to your phone’s Music folder or your SD card.
  • Upload it from your computer to the cloud and listen on any internet-connected device.
TipIf you use Play Music, you can change your music’s storage location from internal phone storage to external SD card storage by touching > Settings > Storage Location > External.

Listen with Play Music

  1. Touch > Play Music.
  2. Do any of the following:

    • To play music stored on your phone, on your SD card, or in the cloud, touch > Music library.
    • To prevent streaming and listen only to music stored on your phone, touch and turn Downloaded only on .
    • To change the storage location for downloaded files, touch > Settings > Storage Location and choose Internal for device storage or External for SD card storage.
