Control notifications for calendar events
In your calendar, touch 
> Settings > General. Turn notifications on or off.
If you have assigned a ringtone for the notification but you silence your phone, your phone won't play the ringtone.
TipIn your phone settings, you can prevent interruptions from calendar notifications during hours you specify by turning off Events and reminders (Sound & notification > Interruptions > Events and reminders).
