Animate and share a drawing (GIF)

Live message lets you record your drawing and writing strokes, then play them together in an evenly-timed animated GIF. Draw and send one right from your messaging app, or create one to share later in whatever app you choose.

1. From an unlocked screen, remove the stylus.

2. Do one of the following:

   • To create a GIF right in your chat, touch the text box in your messaging app. Then touch Live message on the control bar.

   • Or, to create a GIF outside of a messaging app, touch the stylus menu, then touch . (If you don't see , touch to add it to the stylus menu.)

3. Draw your message using the tools:

   	Change pen/brush
   	Change color
   	Undo
   	Delete

   When you stop drawing, recording stops. If you undo or erase, that's not included in the recording.

   The ring around moves with each stroke recorded to show the length of the GIF in-progress.

4. Touch to preview the GIF.
5. Touch to save it.
6. Touch to share it or, if you're already in the text box, send your message.

To view or share your GIF later, open the Photos, Files or other media viewing app, and look for the Live message folder.
