Use voice commands and search

Interact with your phone without touching it. Just say the launch phrase and it will be ready for your commands, even when it's asleep on the table or a passenger seat. It learns your voice (after a short training session) so that nobody else can trigger the phone. Tell your phone to navigate to an address, set your alarm, play your favourite song, check your voicemail and much more.

NoteNot all languages support voice commands.

Train launch phrase

The first time you use Moto Voice, you are prompted to train the launch phrase. For best results:

  • Use a quiet room with no other people around.
  • Avoid rooms that echo, like bathrooms and garages.
  • Use a phrase that includes four or more syllables. You can also use a whistle as your launch phrase.
  • Avoid pauses.
  • Use the same intonation each time.

To change your launch phrase any time, or to view your reminder if you forget your launch phrase:

  1. Touch > Moto.
  2. Touch > Voice > Manage launch phrase.
  3. Follow the onscreen instructions.
