If you use Microsoft Office Outlook on your work computer, your phone can synchronize emails, events, and contacts with your Microsoft Exchange server. Before you start, you'll need the following information (if you don’t have it, contact your company’s IT department):
- Email address
- Email password
- Domain name
- Username
- Server name
- SSL settings
To set up corporate email:
- Drag the status bar down with two fingers and touch
Settings. - Touch Add account >
Corporate.
- Enter the email address and password, and touch Next.
- Enter or select the server settings, and touch Next.
- If you see a Remote Security Administration warning, touch
OK to accept it.
Set account sync options. Each time your phone syncs with the server, it uses battery power. So, the frequency of incoming email affects your battery life. To keep up with email while conserving power, choose settings to match your needs:
- If you rarely receive email (a few per day), use
Sync over Wi-Fi only or a
longer inbox checking schedule (4 hours) to save on data and battery power.
- If you receive email frequently (one every few minutes) and want to conserve battery power, use a frequent inbox checking schedule (15 minutes).
- If you receive email frequently and your battery is getting low, use a longer inbox checking schedule (4 hours).
- If you want to receive new emails immediately and battery power is not an issue, use Push.
- Touch Next.
- Type a name for the account and touch Done.
- Read the security message, and touch Activate.
