You can control how frequently your phone syncs with the accounts. You'll need to balance being current (frequent syncs) with data usage and battery life (less frequent syncs).
Levels of control:
- Turn auto-sync on/off for all accounts.
- Turn auto-sync on/off for one account.
- For each account, limit what types of data are synchronized automatically.
If you turn off auto-sync, you'll need to sync manually to collect messages, email, and calendar updates; you won't be notified if new information is available to sync.
Configure auto-sync
Drag the status bar down with two fingers and touch
Settings.
Under ACCOUNTS, touch the type of account.
means that some or all of an account's information is
configured to auto-sync.
means that an account will not auto-sync.- To limit or expand what kinds of data you synchronize for each account, touch the account name and then use the checkboxes. Unchecking an option does not remove the information from your device; it just is no longer kept in sync with the version on the web.
Sync manually
Drag the status bar down with two fingers and touch
Settings. Under ACCOUNTS, touch the type of account.- Touch the account name.
