Capture moments before they pass by.
Open the camera
Do any of the following:
- Touch
> Camera. - Use your voice. From any screen, say “OK, Google” and then say “take a photo”.
- From the lock screen, swipe
left.
Take a photo
- If needed, adjust settings such as flash or photo size.
Frame your subject:
To zoom, pinch in or out.
- To change the focus location, drag the focus ring.
To change the exposure, slide the control on the focus ring to lighten or darken the shot.

To take the photo, do one of the following:
- Touch
. - Touch & hold
to take a rapid series of photos. - Touch
for a timer.
TipTo touch anywhere on the screen instead of using
, swipe right to open settings and turn on Tap anywhere to capture. -
Swipe left to review your photos and videos:
- To view all thumbnails, touch the screen, then touch
to open the Photos app. - To view photos later, touch
> Photos or open another photo app you installed.
Take a panoramic photo
- On the viewfinder, touch
>
. - Frame one side of the scene.
- Touch
, then slowly pan horizontally or vertically across the scene. Keep your motion smooth and use a steady speed. - When you reach the end of your scene, touch
.
Share a photo you've just taken
- Swipe the viewfinder screen to the left, and touch the photo to share.
- Touch
. - Select the way you want to share.
