Battery charging safety

Charge your phone using a compatible Motorola charger (may be sold separately) or a high-power USB port.

You can leave your phone connected to the charger after it’s fully charged, such as overnight.

  • Don’t charge your phone in temperatures below -20°C (-4°F) or above 45°C (113°F).
  • Only batteries, chargers, and cables approved by Motorola, which are designed to provide safety and give the best performance. For environmental reasons, the package may not include a charger. Devices with a USB-C port can be powered with most USB power adapters and a cable with USB Type-C plug.

NoteOther brand class 2 Limited Power Source USB chargers that comply with USB 1.1, 2.0, 3.0, or greater, and comply with EN301 489-34, IEC/EN62368-1, or equivalent can be used. Chargers that do not comply with these standards may be unsafe, and may cause slow charging, product damage, or reduced device performance.
  • Don’t use a damaged charger or charger cable to charge your phone. In the event of a damaged charger, turn off the power to the outlet to avoid any electrical hazard. Then remove the damaged charger and dispose of it responsibly.
  • Don’t use tools, sharp objects, or excessive force to clean the USB port, as this may damage your phone.
  • Always plug your charger into an electrical outlet that is easily accessible, and unplug your charger from the electrical outlet when not in use.
  • Do not leave your phone connected to the charger for more than a few days to avoid potential reduced battery performance over time.
  • Don’t try to charge your phone when it’s wet.
