Location services

Your mobile device provides location information to applications using data from location information sources, including but not limited to: Global Navigation Satellite System or “GNSS”; Global Position System or “GPS”; Assisted Global Positioning System or “AGPS”; Europe’s global navigation satellite system or “Galileo”; Russia’s global navigation satellite system or “GLONASS”; China’s navigation satellite system or “BeiDou”; Bluetooth; and/or Wi-Fi, depending on the device specification. Some of these systems use government-operated satellites subject to national policy changes that may impact the performance of location services technology on your mobile device. AGPS uses your wireless service provider’s network to improve performance. Airtime, data fees, and/or additional charges may apply in accordance with your mobile device service plan for use of one or more location information sources.

Mobile devices transmit location-based information when connected to a wireless network or when using location information sources like GNSS. If you use applications that require location-based information such as a driving directions application, your mobile device will provide location information from one or more location information sources to the driving directions application. These applications may also share location information with third parties, including your wireless service provider, applications providers, Motorola, Lenovo, and other third parties. See motorola.com/device-privacy and application-specific privacy policy for more information.

Emergency calls

When you make an emergency call, the cellular network may activate the AGPS technology in your mobile device to tell the emergency responders your approximate location.

AGPS has limitations and may not work in your area. Therefore:

  • Always tell the emergency responder your location to the best of your ability.
  • Remain on the call for as long as the emergency responder instructs you.
