Location services

If you choose to enable certain Motorola-operated services and applications that come with your Motorola products, we will determine your location based on input from sensors and antennas such as GPS, Wi‑Fi, and your cellular modem. We will use location information in order to enable location-dependent applications. Where appropriate, we will also use it to analyze how well our products are performing and to develop improvements.

Collection, use, and sharing

We will collect essential information like your Motorola products’ serial numbers and software versions to check for software updates. With your consent, we can also use information about you and your device in order to troubleshoot problems, support Motorola apps you have elected to use, and improve quality and performance of your experiences. This information may include:

• Personal Information like your user ID, contact information, information about your contacts, and apps you use on your Motorola products.
• Contextual Information like how you interact with your device, such as when driving or when in meetings.
• Performance Data like how long your battery lasts, app stability, and settings.
• Non-Personally-Identifiable Information like how often you use certain Motorola experiences and the kinds of accessories you use.
• Information needed for specific Motorola experiences to function, like your voiceprint, your calls and text messages, and information from your calendar and address book.

We may share information with service providers and affiliates who work with us to perform customer support and data analysis functions.

You can choose what information we collect by accessing the Privacy menu in your device's Settings application. You can also visit individual Motorola app settings to turn them on and off.

Tracking and ads

We do not place or access web tracking technologies like pixel tags or cookies on your Motorola products to store sensitive information like passwords or your personal data, analyze traffic, personalize device features, or research ways to improve Motorola products and services. However, other websites you visit or apps that you install may place and use such trackers subject to their own terms of use. You can opt out of receiving emails from Motorola at http://optout.motorola.com.

Security and your data

Before we share your information with service providers working on our behalf, we will require them to protect your information according to our standards and to not use your information for any independent purpose. We also use standard technical and organizational security measures to protect the information that we collect and use to provide you with services and support.
