Get suggested modes and scenes

Available on moto g55 5G, moto g85 5G, moto g stylus 5G - 2024.

Your camera uses AI to suggest changing modes when it determines that a shot could be improved. It can also optimize the exposure, contrast, saturation, and color when it detects the following scenes:

  • Fireworks
  • Food
  • Motion
  • Holiday lights
  • Sunrise/Sunset
  • Moon

To turn these suggestions on or off:

  1. Tap settings icon.
  2. Turn Shot Optimization on toggle on switch or off .

When Shot Optimization is on and you're framing a photo:

  • If your camera detects a scene, you'll see a bar with the name of the scene (like Food). To use the enhancements, just take the photo. If you don't want the enhancements, turn the scene off first.
  • If your camera suggests changing modes, tap the suggestion to change modes before taking the photo. Or, to use the current mode, press a Volume button or tap shutter icon on the screen.

Choose enhanced or natural photo style

Your camera can elevate the quality of your images with AI-enhanced image processing.

About photo enhancement

AI works behind the scenes to:

  • Improve the dynamic range (ratio between the brightest and darkest parts of an image)
  • Deliver finer image details, especially when zooming
  • Achieve better Portraits
  • Provide outstanding noise reduction, especially noticeable in low light environments

In addition, it combines settings from multiple modes (like Night Vision, Portrait), delivering optimized quality.

Unlike other image processing methods, these enhancements use the RAW image data from the camera sensor, before any image frames even reach the chipset image signal processor (ISP). Uncompressed RAW image data offers the highest image quality and is easier to adjust for exposure, contrast, and white balance. This image processing method allows for better overall results, as it’s not bound by the chipset’s ISP capabilities.

Switch between enhanced and natural photo styles

Set your camera to automatically enhance your captured images by adjusting the white balance, color, saturation, brightness, and contrast. Or, if you don’t want auto enhancements, set the style to natural.

On the Photos screen:

  • To turn AI-enhanced image processing off, tap to change to Natural.
  • To use AI-enhanced image processing, tap to change to Auto Enhance. It might take longer to capture photos when Auto Enhance is on.

Add watermark on photos

  1. Tap settings icon > Watermark.
  2. Choose which elements to add to new photos:
