Edit photos and videos

Edit standard photos

  1. Open the photo in the Camera or Photos apps.
  2. Touch the photo, then touch .

  3. Touch a tab to access editing options.

    SuggestionsEnhance automatically or apply overall warm or cool tones
    CropCrop, rotate, or straighten photo
    Adjust

    All photos: Change brightness, contrast, colors, vignette

    Portrait photos: Adjust blur, depth (foreground blur), color focus

    FiltersApply preset effects

    MoreUse drawing tools (Markup) or edit screenshots

  4. When editing:

    • To compare changes in progress to the original photo, touch and hold the photo.
    • To discard changes, touch Cancel.
    • To save changes, touch Save copy.
TipYou can create albums, collages, animations, and movies from your photos and videos. For more information, open the Photos app, touch > Help and search for “assistant”.

Enhance blur on Portrait photos

  1. Open the photo in the Camera or Photos app.
  2. Touch the photo, then touch .

  3. Touch Tools and then:

    • To adjust the amount of background blur, touch Blur and move the slider.
    • To adjust the amount of foreground blur, touch Blur > Depth and move the slider.
    • To desaturate background colors and keep the foreground in color, touch Color focus, touch the foreground, then use the slider to adjust background colors.
  4. Touch Save copy. (If you don't see it, touch .)

Change background of Cutout photo

  1. Open the photo in the Camera or Photos app.
  2. Touch the photo, then touch > Add Background.
  3. Select a background, then position the image on it.
  4. Touch Save.

Edit videos

  1. Open the Photos app.
  2. Touch the thumbnail to open the video, then touch .

  3. On the Videos tab, do any of the following:

    • Trim the video. Drag the sliders to outline the frames to save.
    • Steady a shaky recording. Touch .
    • Export a frame or multiple frames as individual photos. Touch Export frame.

  4. Touch a tab to access editing options.

    Crop Move corners to crop the video. Touch to change orientation for playing the video.
    Adjust Change brightness, contrast, colors, vignette
    Filters Apply preset effects
    Markup Use pen, highlighter, or insert text
  5. Touch Save copy.
