Customise the side button

About the AI key

You can choose what the AI key does:

  • Press and hold it to open a selected app or perform an in-app action, like opening Camera in Portrait mode.
  • Double-press it for a selected Smart Connect action, like streaming an app from the phone to a PC.
  • Press it for Walkie-talkie mode, to speak with Teams members in real time (must be subscribed through Teams).

Choose what happens when you press and hold

  1. Go to Settings > Gestures > AI key.
  2. Tap Press and hold.

  3. Set how the gesture works:

    • If you want it to open the prompt bar, select Moto AI.
    • If you don't want it to do anything, select No action.
  4. To adjust how long you need to press and hold to open the prompt bar, move Press and hold duration.

Choose what happens when you double-press

  1. Go to Settings > Gestures > AI key.
  2. Tap Double-press.

  3. Set how the gesture works:

    • Select a Moto AI action.
    • Or, choose No action to turn off the gesture.
