Verizon Video Calling

Video Calling lets you make an HD Voice call and switch to a video call. If your contact can accept a video call, you’ll see an enabled camera icon for starting the video call. When you’re connected to Verizon’s 4G LTE network and known Wi-Fi access points, video calls are automatically transferred to Wi-Fi.

To set it up:

  1. Touch .
  2. Touch more options icon > Settings > Calls.
  3. Turn Video calling on toggle on switch.

To make a video call:

  1. Start a call in the Phone app.
  2. If your contact has HD video capability, on the dialer:

    • Touch (two-way video).
    • Touch (one-way video) to send your video while your contact is voice only.
  3. To return to voice only, touch .
  4. To end the call, touch .

Make video call with Meet app

Meet lets you video call anyone in your contact list who also uses Meet. Android users can get it from Play Store, and iPhone users can download it from the App Store. The video calls are secure and can’t be seen by others.

To get started, open the Meet app and follow the onscreen instructions to set it up. For more information, tap more options icon > Help & Feedback.

Get an app to make video calls

You can also use other apps for video calls.

There are many video calling apps to choose from on Play Store (like WhatsApp, Skype, and more).

  1. Open the Play Store app.
  2. Search for “video calls”.
  3. Download the app you want to use.

Add effects during video calls

During video calls, you can blur or replace your background, track your movement, switch the camera angle, or freeze the frame.

Turn on/off

  1. Go to Settings > System.
  2. Tap Video call effects, then:

    • To add for all video calling apps, turn it on toggle on switch.
    • To remove for all video calling apps, turn it off toggle off switch.
    • To remove it for only certain video calling apps, leave it on toggle on switch and tap Settings, then select the apps where you want to use video effects.

Adjust effects

When your camera is active during a video call, you'll see the effects toolkit . You can drag it to reposition it.

Tap to adjust effects:

Camera view: normal or zoom
Freeze frame
Subject tracking: on/off, sensitivity, subject size
Background effect: blur or replace
