Automatically adjust sound

Your phone automatically identifies the type of media you're playing and adjusts sound for that experience. You don't have to do anything.

Select sound profiles

You can select a preset sound profile for your loudspeaker, headphones, or other connected device, and your phone will remember the next time you connect it.

  1. Open quick settings, then touch & hold .

    Or, open the Audio effects app .

  2. Tap Settings.

  3. Choose how to adjust sound:

    • To automatically adjust based on the media playing, turn Auto on toggle on switch.
    • To use a preset sound profile, turn Auto off toggle off switch, then select Music, Movie, Game, or Podcast.

  4. To customize a selected sound profile, next to the profile name tap edit icon, then:

    • Choose an equalizer preset to enhance treble, bass, or vocals.
    • To refine bass, adjust the Bass boost slider.
    • To keep the same volume level when you switch between audio sources, turn Volume leveler on.
    • To learn more about these settings, tap more options icon > Help.
    • To revert to original profile settings, tap more options icon > Reset.
