Improve video playback

For the best video-watching experience, keep both settings enabled.

If bandwidth limitations prevent high-resolution video streaming, you can set your phone to enhance video resolution during playback for improved clarity.

When Video resolution is on, AI scaler super resolution (AIS):

  • Upscales 2X for 540p and 720p
  • Upscales 3X for resolutions below 480p
  • Enhances clarity up to 2560 × 1440

This feature uses more battery power because of the intensive calculations.

To turn it on/off:

  1. Go to Settings > Display.
  2. Turn Video resolution on toggle on switch for better playback.

    If you’re low on battery, turn it off toggle off switch.

Dynamic Video Enhancement uses Dolby technology to analyze your surroundings and the video content in real-time to adjust brightness, contrast, and color depth on a frame-by-frame basis, making images look more realistic with deeper blacks and brighter highlights.

This feature uses more battery power because of the intensive calculations.

To turn it on/off:

  1. Go to Settings > Display.
  2. Turn Dynamic Video Enhancement on toggle on switch for better playback.

    If you’re low on battery, turn it off toggle off switch.

Dynamic Video Enhancement improves the playback of videos you watch. It is separate form the Dolby Vision recording setting in the Camera app, which records and saves videos in Dolby Vision format.
