Set Power button to open Camera, assistant, and more

You can customize the Power button, controlling what happens when you press it twice and when you press & hold it. You can also choose what happens when you slide up or down on the Power button.

Press & hold Power
  1. Go to Settings > Gestures.
  2. Tap Power key > Press & hold.
  3. Choose what you want the gesture to do:

    • To start a voice command, select Digital assistant.

    • To see the Power menu for turning off or restarting the phone, or going into Lockdown mode or Emergency mode, select Power menu.
    • If you don’t want anything to happen if you press & hold Power, select No action.

    If you select a choice other than Power menu, then to see the Power menu for turning off and restarting, you'll need to press the Power + Volume up buttons simultaneously.

  4. To adjust how long you need to press & hold to start the selected action, move Press & hold duration.

  1. Go to Settings > Gestures.
  2. Tap Power key > Double press.
  3. Choose if you want to open the Moto AI prompt bar, open the camera, or perform no action.
Slide Power up/down

You can set the Power button to open and close quick settings & notifications when you slide your finger up or down it, or set it to zoom in and out on Google Maps.

To use the gesture:

  1. Go to Settings > Gestures > Slide on power key.
  2. Turn Use slide on power key on .
  3. Set what you want the gesture to do:

    • To open and close quick settings and notifications when you slide up/down, select Show quick settings & notifications.
    • To zoom in/out in Maps when you slide up/down, select Zooming.

      Move Slide sensitivity to adjust how firmly you need to press when sliding to zoom.

To disable the gesture:

  1. Go to Settings > Gestures > Slide on power key.
  2. Turn Use slide on power key off .
