Take, share, and print photos
Capture moments before they pass by. Your camera lets in more light for clearer, more detailed, and more vibrant photos, even in low-light conditions. And when you’re ready to shoot, touch the viewfinder screen anywhere to capture your shot.
Take a photo
Open the camera:
- Flick your phone twice from any screen to open the camera immediately.
- Or, touch
> Camera.
Set the camera:
- To switch between front-facing and back-facing cameras, touch
. - To change camera settings, swipe the viewfinder right and slide the settings wheel to access options. To close settings, swipe left.
Frame your subject:
- To zoom, drag the viewfinder up and down.
- To change the focus location, drag the shutter to set focus. (You must first turn on
in camera settings.)
- Touch anywhere on the viewfinder to capture the photo. To shoot continuously, touch & hold; your captures are counted on the shutter.
TipIf the photo looks blurry, wipe the lens clean with a soft, dry cloth and retake the photo.
To view captured photos and videos, swipe the viewfinder to the left. You can also view photos using the Gallery or Photos apps, or a photo app you installed.
To return to Gallery from an open image or video, touch the screen, then touch
. To open the Gallery from your home screen, touch
> Gallery.
Tell your phone to take a photo
If you've set up Moto Voice, you can tell your phone to take a photo:
- Say your launch phrase.
Say one of the following:
- “Take a photo.” The rear-facing camera opens and counts down before taking a picture.
- “Take a selfie.” The front-facing camera opens and counts down before taking a picture.
Share a photo you've just taken
- Swipe the viewfinder screen to the left, and touch the photo to share.
- Touch
. - Select the way you want to share.
You can also copy photos to your computer using a USB cable.

Print photos
To send a photo to a printer or create a PDF:
- Open the photo.
- Touch it, then touch > Print.
