Make calls
You can place calls from the Phone app, the Contacts app, or other apps or widgets that show contact information. Wherever you see a phone number, you can usually touch it to dial.
To make a call with the Phone app:
Do one of the following:
- From the lock screen, swipe
right. - Touch

Do any of the following:
- To dial by voice, touch
and say a name or number. - To call someone by name, start typing the name. You'll see a list of possible matches. Just touch one to call.
To dial a number, touch
, enter a number and touch 
. If you enter a wrong number, touch 
.- To scroll through contacts and touch a number to call, touch CONTACTS. (If the dialer is open, swipe down to see the CONTACTS tab.)
- To call contacts that you've starred, touch the SPEED DIAL tab.
To return a call, touch RECENTS. Touch the caller's name or number, then touch Call back.
- To dial by voice, touch
