When you’re driving, let Assist automatically switch your phone to hands-free mode.
While you stay focused on the road, your phone will:
- Keep your phone quiet by allowing only priority interruptions (you can set exceptions for your favorite contacts or urgent, repeat callers).
- Automatically start the last music you were playing over Bluetooth or the headphone jack so that you don’t have to mess with controls.
To set it up:
- Touch
> Moto. - Touch Assist.
- Touch
> Add activity > Driving. Do any of the following:
- To only allow priority interruptions, touch Keep quiet. To adjust ringer settings and exceptions, touch EDIT.
- To start music automatically, check Play music, then touch CHOOSE.
- For the best sound quality, touch More options and check Improve driving detection by allowing Moto to look for Bluetooth devices.
Assist uses your phone's accelerometer and location data to determine if you’re driving. If you are a passenger or riding a bus or train, you can view the
notification and touch I'm not driving. Your settings resume the next time you drive.
If your phone is connected with a Bluetooth device, Assist allows the Bluetooth device to handle incoming calls. In this case, you can use your Bluetooth device to announce incoming calls if it supports this feature.
TipTo stop voice readout temporarily, say “Stopâ€. Your settings resume when the next message arrives.
