Set up your Motorola ID now so that, in case your phone is lost or stolen, you can locate and secure it remotely. As long as your phone is on and has a data or Wi-Fi connection, you can go to motorola.com/support from a desktop computer and:
- Locate your phone, add a screen lock to to prevent anyone else from accessing your personal information, or wipe your data from it
- Ring your phone with an extra loud ring for a few minutes while you locate it
- Enter a special message that will display on your phone in case it is found
- Reset your screen lock by replacing your current screen lock with a password lock
TipIf you have
added a Google account and
use a screen lock, then your phone is automatically protected. If your phone gets lost or stolen, it will remain locked until you sign in with your Google account, even if someone resets it to factory settings.
Set up your Motorola ID
You may have already set up your Motorola ID when you set up another Motorola app.
- Go to Settings > Motorola ID.
- Touch Google account.
Do one of the following:
- To use an existing account, touch the account name > OK.
- To use a different account, touch Add account > OK.
- Touch Done to accept the permissions.
Change accounts
You can change the account associated with your Motorola ID any time:
- Go to Settings > Motorola ID.
- Touch > Change account.
