Stop phone from speaking

Some voice commands (such as ‘What's up?’ and ‘What's the weather like?’) cause your phone to speak in response.

To stop the phone from speaking temporarily, touch .

TipTo stop voice readout when using Assist, say ‘Stop.’

To prevent your phone from speaking:

  1. Touch > Google Settings.
  2. Touch Search & Now > Voice.
  3. Turn off Speech output.
