Manage apps quickly
You can quickly get details for an app, temporarily stop it from running, or clear its data or cache. You can also restore defaults (an easy way to reset an app), or uninstall an app -- all without going through menus. The key is to use the app tray.
- Touch
. Touch & hold the app icon, then drag it to an option:
- App info to find out about the app's data usage, clear its cache, force it to stop, disable it or turn its notifications on/off.
- Uninstall to remove the app. Not available for all pre-installed apps (use App info > Disable instead).
Tips
- keep your apps up to date. To see if newer versions of the apps associated with your Google account are available, touch > Play Store >
> My apps. - To organise your apps into groups on your home screen, use folders.
