Change type of screen lock

To change the type of security required to unlock your phone after it goes to sleep:

  1. Go to Settings > Security.

  2. Touch Screen lock and select the type of lock you want:

    • None: Turns off screen locks.
    • Slide: Prevents accidental dialing but doesn't secure the phone. Touch and drag to . Do not select this if you want to use a trusted Bluetooth device.

    • Face Unlock: Use facial recognition. If your phone doesn't recognize your face, you can enter your backup pattern or PIN.
    • Pattern: Draw a pattern on a grid.
    • PIN: Enter a four to sixteen digit numeric code.
    • Password: Enter four to sixteen letters, digits, or symbols for the password.

If you forgot your screen lock

If you forgot your screen lock and you set up a Motorola ID, from a computer go to motorola.com/support and use the lost phone features to reset your screen lock.

If your phone is using a Google account, you can also reset your screen lock by going to google.com/android/devicemanager from a computer.
