Set date and time

Your phone automatically syncs with the local time (using the mobile network). The local time is used for alarms and is displayed on the lock screen and other displays. You can also manually set the date, time or time zone and you can control the format for displaying times and dates.

You can view multiple time zones in the Clock app, so you can co-ordinate plans with friends and colleagues in other cities or stay in touch with family back home when you’re travelling.

Change format of times or dates

  1. Go to Settings > Date & time.
  2. To change how times are displayed:

    • To use the 24-hour format such as 13:00, tick Use 24-hour format.
    • To use the 12-hour format such as 1:00 PM, do not tick Use 24-hour format.
  3. To change how dates are displayed, touch Choose date format and select a format.

Set date and time automatically

  1. Go to Settings > Date & time.
  2. Tick Automatic date & time and Automatic time zone.

Set date and time manually

  1. Go to Settings > Date & time.
  2. Deselect Automatic date & time.
  3. To make corrections, touch Set date and Set time.

Switch time zones

  1. Go to Settings > Date & time.
  2. Deselect Automatic time zone.
  3. Touch Select time zone. Then choose a regional time zone (which is applied to the current time).

Show multiple time zones

  1. Touch > Clock > .
  2. To add time zones, touch , then select cities in the time zone you want to view.

Show home time zone

When travelling, you can view your home time zone in the Clock app.

  1. Touch > Clock > .
  2. Touch > Settings > Automatic home clock.
  3. Touch Home time zone, then select your home time zone.
