About your home screen

You see the home screen when you turn on and unlock your phone or touch .

Your home screen starts as the centre of five pages.

Swipe right or left to move between pages.

Here are the parts of your home screen:

  1. Status bar: displays the time and icons that tell you about your phone's battery and network connections. Swipe down to view your notifications and to open your quick settings, handy toggle switches.
  2. Widget: you can add widgets to your Home screen for quick access to information or frequent tasks.
  3. Shortcut: Opens an app or a web page. You can add shortcuts to apps or webpages you use frequently, instead of opening and scrolling through your list of all apps or navigating your bookmarks.
  4. Favourites tray: Provides one-touch access to your most-used apps from any of the home screen pages. You can customise which apps appear in the Favourites tray. To open the list of all your apps, touch .
  5. Navigation: takes you back one screen. returns you to the home screen from any app. lets you switch between recent apps. If you don't use these buttons often, they may shrink to dots or fade away, depending on the current app. To bring them back, touch their location.
  6. Folder: add folders to organise app shortcuts.
