Auto-upload photos and videos with Google+
Google+ can automatically upload photos and videos to your private Auto-backup album as you take them. Your photos remain private until you publish them in a post or public album. You can set Auto-backup to upload over Wi-Fi only.
Upload options
- Photos are stored at original size and count as part of your free storage on Drive.
- Photos are stored at standard size (2048 px) after you reach the free storage limit. (You’ll receive a message when you approach the limit and can purchase more space or delete unwanted files to continue uploading at original size.)
- Standard size photo uploads are unlimited and do not count as part of free storage on Drive.
- Video uploads are unlimited and do not count as part of free storage on Drive if they are less than 15 minutes long and 1080p or lower resolution.
Set up backups
The first time you open the Google+ app or share a video or photo via Google+, you’ll be invited to set up Auto-backup.
To set it up at any time, open Google+ and touch 
> Settings > Auto-backup.
Upload over Wi-Fi only
- Open Google+ and touch > Settings > Auto-backup.
- For photos, touch Back up photos > Over Wi‑Fi only.
- For videos, touch Back up videos > Over Wi‑Fi only.
View and share your files
From your phone, open Google+ and touch

From your computer, sign in to Google+ and click Photos.
