About your Google account

When you set up your phone, you associated it with a Google account. If you haven't had a Google account before, this is more than just a password you set up for your phone.

A Google account lets you organise and access your personal information and files from any computer or mobile device:

• Never lose your contacts. Contacts you associate with your Google account in the People app are backed up to Google's cloud and you can get to them from Gmail on any computer.
• Synchronise and back up everything. Contacts, drafts of emails, calendar events, photos, videos and music: create emails or events on your phone; upload your photos, videos and music to the cloud; get to all of it without taking up space on your phone.
• Keep your stuff secure and available. Your password secures it and lets you access it from anywhere.
• Simplify shopping. You can connect your account with Google Wallet, which makes it easy to purchase music, books, apps and more on Play Store and other online stores.

Your Google account gives you access to these apps and services:

	Drive	Store and synchronise your files on Google's cloud, then access them anywhere you have an Internet connection. Create and share spreadsheets, documents and presentations.
	Play Store	Get apps for your phone, as well as books, magazines, music and videos and access them from your computer or any Android device.
	Play Books	Read and download books from Play Store.
	Play Newsstand	Get breaking news and subscribe to magazines from Play Store.
	Play Games	Discover great games, play with your Google+ friends, track your achievements and compare scores with others.
	Play Movies & TV	Get films and TV programmes for instant viewing from Play Store.
	Play Music	Transfer your music from your computer via USB or shop Play Store for music. Create playlists, listen anywhere.
	Gmail	Compose, send, view or search your email from your phone or computer.
	Hangouts	Join conversations with your friends using video or text.
	Calendar	Keep track of your upcoming events, get automatic reminders on your phone and co-ordinate with others by sharing calendars.
	Chrome	Browse the web. Access your browser bookmarks from any device and sync tabs with your computer or Android devices.
	Google+	Share content with just the right people on this social network and upload photos automatically to your private album.
	Quickoffice	Create and edit Microsoft Office documents.
	YouTube	Find, view and upload videos to the web.
