Set up email

If you use Gmail, use the Gmail app with your Google account. For other types of email accounts, including web-based email services, email providers or corporate Microsoft Exchange accounts, you can use the Email app.

You can set up multiple email accounts and use the Email app to show messages from a single account or a combined view of multiple accounts.

The first time you open the Email app, you are prompted to add an account. You can also add accounts later.

Set up personal email

  1. Touch > Email.
  2. Touch > Settings > ADD ACCOUNT.
  3. Enter your email address and password, and touch Next.

For most email accounts, that's all you need to do. But, if that isn't successful, you'll need to contact your email provider to get this information:

Then, touch Manual setup instead of Next when setting up your account.

Set up corporate email

If you use Microsoft Office Outlook on your work computer, your phone can synchronise emails, calendar events and contacts with the Microsoft Exchange server. Before you start, you'll need the following information from your company's IT department:

To set up corporate email:

  1. Touch > Email.
  2. Touch > Settings > ADD ACCOUNT.
  3. Enter your email address and password, and touch Next.
  4. Touch Exchange.
  5. Enter or review and edit the server settings, and touch Next.
  6. Review account sync options and touch Next.
  7. Type a name for the account and touch Next.

View multiple accounts in one inbox

To change your inbox view, next to the email account name, touch and select a single account or a combined view.
