Set date and time
Your phone automatically syncs with the local time (using the mobile network). The local time is used for alarms and is displayed on the lock screen and other displays. You can also manually set the date, time, or time zone. And you can control the format for displaying times and dates.
You can view multiple time zones in the Clock app, so you can coordinate plans with friends and co-workers in other cities, or stay in touch with family back home when you’re traveling.
Change format of times or dates
- Go to Settings > Date & time.
To change how times are displayed:
- To use military time such as 13:00, check Use 24-hour format.
- To use 12-hour format such as 1:00 PM, do not check Use 24-hour format.
- To change how dates are displayed, touch Choose date format and select a format.
Set date and time automatically
- Go to Settings > Date & time.
- Check Automatic date & time and Automatic time zone.
Set date and time manually
- Go to Settings > Date & time.
- Uncheck Automatic date & time.
- To make corrections, touch Set date and Set time.
Switch time zones
- Go to Settings > Date & time.
- Uncheck Automatic time zone.
- Touch Select time zone. Then choose a regional time zone (which is applied to the current time).
Show multiple time zones
- Touch

. - To add time zones, touch
, then select cities in the time zone you want to view.
Show home time zone
When traveling, you can view your home time zone in the Clock app.

- Touch
> Settings > Automatic home clock. - Touch Home time zone, then select your home time zone.
