Jot a quick note with the stylus

If your phone is locked

Write and save a quick note, no unlocking required.

  1. Remove the stylus.
  2. Write or draw your note. Learn more.

    To move the page, touch , or use two fingers to drag the page.

  3. Touch to save the note in Moto Note.

To save the note to another app or share it, you’ll need to unlock the phone. Touch , then unlock and select an option.

If your phone is unlocked

  1. Remove the stylus.
  2. Touch on the stylus menu.
  3. Write or draw your note. Learn more.

    To move the page, touch , or use two fingers to drag the page.

  4. Save your note:

    • To save it to Moto Note, touch .
    • To save it to another app or share it, touch and select an option.

Organize, find, delete notes

In the Moto Note app, you can categorize and label notes to find them easily, and delete old notes.

Add or edit titles

  1. Open the note.
  2. Swipe down with two fingers.
  3. Touch Title and type a title.

    Or, touch the current title to edit it.

Categorize notes

To categorize a saved note:

  1. Open the note.
  2. Swipe down with two fingers.
  3. Touch Uncategorized and select a category (To-do, Personal, Work) or touch New to create another.

To categorize a note when you create it:

  1. Touch to see the categories.
  2. Touch the category.
  3. Touch to create the note.

Find notes

To view notes by category, touch and select the category.

To search for a note:

  1. Touch and select All notes or a specific category to search.
  2. Touch and type a word from the title or content.

    Notes containing the word appear as you type.

  3. Touch a note to open it.

Delete notes or categories

To delete a note you haven't yet saved, touch and Discard.

To delete saved notes:

  1. Touch & hold the first note to delete, then touch any others to select them.
  2. Touch .

To delete a category you created:

  1. Touch > Manage categories.
  2. Touch .

    This doesn't delete any notes. It just moves them to Uncategorized.

Tools to write, draw, or erase

Once you’ve opened a note, use these tools to write or draw.

 

 

Change tools

To use tools, touch an icon. Touch it again to adjust related options, like drawing tool, stroke thickness, color, pattern, or eraser size.

Add elements and backgrounds

In Moto Note, touch and select an option to add:

Text/handwriting
Add existing or new photo
Background (Touch twice to see options.)

Edit

  • Touch to undo your last stroke.
  • Touch to redo your last erased stroke.

Erase

To erase with the stylus:

  • To erase an area, touch and go over the area.
  • To erase everything, touch twice > Clear all.

To erase using your fingers:

  • To erase everything, swipe two fingers across the screen to clear it.
  • To erase an area with your finger instead of switching the stylus to the eraser tool, touch twice to open eraser options, then turn Finger eraser on .
