Store photos and videos on SD card

To set your camera to save new photos and videos on your SD card:

  1. Be sure you inserted an SD card.
  2. On the Camera screen, tap .
  3. Tap Storage location > SD card.

You can also move existing photos and videos from internal storage to the SD card.

Use location tags

When you take photos or videos, you can embed data about the location where you took them.

On the Camera screen, tap Settings and turn GPS location info on .

You need to turn on location-based services to use this feature.

Turn shutter sound on/off

On the viewfinder, tap Settings and turn Capture sound on or off .

Twist phone to open camera

Open your camera instantly from any screen, even your lock screen, with Quick capture.

Twist your phone twice like this:

The Camera opens, and you’re ready to shoot.

Twist twice again to switch to the front (selfie) camera.

If you don’t want others to access your camera, you can turn Quick capture off. But if you use a screen lock, don’t worry--only your Camera app is accessible. To view existing photos or access any other features or apps, you must unlock your phone.

To turn Quick capture on or off:

  1. Go to Settings > System > Gestures.

  2. Turn Quick capture on or off .

Use Volume key for shutter

  1. On the viewfinder, touch Settings.
  2. Turn Volume key on or off to adjust whether pressing the Volume key takes a photo/video or not.
