Automatically adjust sound

Your phone automatically identifies the type of media you're playing and how you're listening (phone's speaker, headphones, or other connected audio device), and adjusts sound for that experience. You don't have to do anything. Moto Audio is always on, unless you turn it off.

Select sound profiles

You can select a preset sound profile for your loudspeaker, headphones, or other connected device, and your phone will remember the next time you connect it.

  1. Go to Settings > Sound > Moto Audio.
  2. Choose how to adjust sound:

    • To automatically adjust based on the media playing, select Smart audio.
    • To use a preset sound profile, select Music or Movie.
    • To use a custom sound profile where you can adjust a graphic equalizer, select Custom.
  3. To adjust options for a selected profile or set up the Custom profile, tap , then:

    • Choose an equalizer preset to enhance treble, bass, or vocals. For the Custom profile, you can refine an equalizer preset, or to adjust the graphic equalizer, tap Manual and move the sliders.
    • To get a surround sound experience from any set of headphones or stereo speakers, turn Surround virtualizer on.
    • To keep the same volume level when you switch between audio sources, turn Volume leveler on.
    • To learn more about these settings, touch > Help.
    • To revert to original profile settings, tap > Reset.
NoteIf you don't want to save settings, touch > Saved audio settings and turn Remember this device off .

Turn Moto Audio off

To turn Moto Audio off for the loudspeaker and any connected device:

  1. Go to Settings > Sound > Moto Audio.
  2. Touch > About.
  3. Tap the image on the screen 3 times.

    The On toggle appears.

  4. Turn it off .
