What's new in Android Pie?

Once you've upgraded your phone, you'll see the following improvements to the Android operating system and other apps on your phone.

Battery

Android Doze has been refined to improve battery life.

Adaptive Battery is a new feature that learns how you use apps and restricts battery use for apps you don’t use often.

You can set Battery Saver to automatically switch on sooner, with much more battery remaining.

Security

Android P restricts the use of microphone, camera, and all sensors by apps running in the background. Whenever an app uses a sensor, you'll see a message.

Backups are now encrypted on the device before uploading to the cloud.

An app’s private data can now be accessed only by that app.

Your Wi-Fi hotpot now turns off automatically when no devices are connected.

Add a Lockdown option to your Power button so you can temporarily tighten locks and prevent lock screen notifications.
