View notifications
When you receive a new message, calendar reminder, missed call or other notification, the status bar at the top of the screen shows notification icons on the left-hand side. On the right-hand side, you'll see signal strength, battery level and other phone status icons.
You may also hear a sound when a notification arrives, depending on your notification settings.
View notifications from your Home screen
To see your notifications, swipe the status bar down. Then you can:
- Respond to a notification. Touch it to open the associated app. Some notifications (Gmail, calendar event, etc.) include actions at the bottom that let you complete common tasks without opening the full app.
- Expand a notification. Actions for a notification are hidden if you have lots of notifications. Pinch out with two fingers to reveal any actions.
- Dismiss a notification. Swipe it sideways.
- Clear all notifications. Touch

.TipTo turn off notifications from an app, touch and hold the notification, then touch App info and deselect Show notifications.
