If you share your phone with family, friends, or within a business, you can set up separate user spaces for each of them.
Importantto prevent others from switching to your owner profile and accessing your information, set a
screen lock before you share your phone.
Add a user
You must be the device owner to add users.
Go to Settings > Users. Or from quick settings, touch
.
TipIf you want to add users from quick settings on your lock screen without unlocking the phone, go to
Settings >
Users > >
Add users when device is locked.
- Touch Add user > OK.
- Give the phone to the new user to set up the profile.
Restrict calls and messages
From your owner profile, you control whether users can call and send texts with your phone:
- Go to Settings > Users. Or from quick settings, touch
> More settings. - Next to the user name, touch
. - To allow the user to make calls and send messages, switch on Turn on phone calls & SMS.
On dual SIM phones, the owner controls SIM usage for mobile data, outgoing calls and connection priority. Be sure to review dual SIM settings before giving your phone to a new user.
Modify a user
Users borrowing your phone can modify the Home screen and other settings. They can also customise the picture and name that appears in their profile.
Users can modify their profile by doing the following:
- Go to Settings > Users. Or from quick settings, touch
> More settings. - Touch the user name.
- Change the picture, name or nickname.
Remove a user
You can remove yourself as a user. You must be the device owner to remove other users.
- Go to Settings > Users. Or from quick settings, touch
> More settings. Do one of the following:
- To remove yourself as a user, touch .
- To remove other users if you are the device owner, next to the user name, touch
.
- Touch Remove user.
