It learns your voice (after a short training session) so that nobody else can trigger the phone. To set up your launch phrase:
The first time you use Moto Voice, you are prompted to train the launch phrase. Follow the onscreen instructions.
To change your launch phrase any time, or to view your reminder if you forget your launch phrase:
Tell your phone to call people, get directions, send messages, set alarms. The possibilities are enormous.
When the phone responds, say the command (for example, “Call Elise” or “Set alarm for 7 AM tomorrow”).
Be sure to try these commands.

Moto Voice allows you to command your phone with your voice without unlocking it for secure features available from the lock screen, like making a call or taking a picture.
You can also command your phone to perform less secure functions, which your phone starts and completes after you unlock the screen.
