When you’re driving, let Assist automatically switch your phone to hands-free mode.
While you stay focused on the road, your phone will:
- Announce callers (for people who are contacts on your phone).
- Read text messages aloud (for people who are contacts on your phone).
- Automatically start the last music you were playing over Bluetooth or the headphone jack so that you don’t have to mess with controls.
To set it up:
- Touch
> Moto. - Touch
> Assist. - Touch
> Add activity > Driving. Do any of the following:
- To hear voice readout, touch Talk to me.
- To only allow priority interruptions, touch Keep quiet.
- To start music automatically, check Play music, then touch CHOOSE.
- For the best sound quality, touch More options and check Improve driving detection by allowing Moto to look for Bluetooth devices.
Assist uses your phone's accelerometer and location data to determine if you’re driving. If you are a passenger or riding a bus or train, you can view the
notification and touch Not now. Your settings resume the next time you drive.
If your phone is connected with a Bluetooth device, Assist allows the Bluetooth device to handle incoming calls. In this case, you can use your Bluetooth device to announce incoming calls if it supports this feature.
TipTo stop voice readout temporarily, say “Stop”. Your settings resume when the next message arrives.
